Refund policy

We hope you are happy with your purchase from MM Collectibles. This policy explains how cancellations, returns and refunds are handled. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

Change-of-mind cancellations

When buying online, UK customers usually have a legal 14-day cooling-off period.

You may cancel your order by contacting us within 14 days after the day you receive it. You do not have to provide a reason for cancelling.

After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you must return the item within a further 14 days.

To request a return, please email: info@mmcollectibles.co.uk

Please include your name and order number. We will then provide the correct returns address and instructions.

Condition of returned items

You may inspect an item in the same way that you reasonably would in a physical shop.

Returned items should include all original packaging, accessories, display stands, cards, inserts and other supplied components.

You are responsible for taking reasonable care of the item while it is in your possession.

We may make a reasonable deduction from your refund where the item has been handled beyond what is necessary to inspect it and this has reduced its value.

Items must not be used, altered, deliberately damaged or returned incomplete.

Blind boxes and sealed collectibles

Unopened blind boxes and sealed collectibles can be returned under the change-of-mind cancellation terms above.

Customers do not have to provide a reason for cancelling. However, opening a blind box reveals the enclosed character and changes it from a random sealed product into a confirmed figure.

Opening the box, removing seals, opening internal packaging or damaging the packaging may substantially reduce the item’s resale value.

Where this happens, we may make a reasonable deduction from the refund to reflect the actual reduction in value.

A blind box being opened and revealing a character the customer did not want does not by itself mean that the item is faulty or incorrectly supplied.

This does not affect the customer’s rights where the item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.

Confirmed and open-box figures

Figures described as confirmed, opened or open box may still be returned under the change-of-mind cancellation terms.

The figure, box, accessories and packaging should be returned in the same condition in which they were supplied.

Any box wear, damage, missing packaging or other condition issue clearly disclosed in the product description or photographs before purchase will not be treated as a fault.

Return postage

For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for paying the return postage cost.

We recommend using a tracked service and retaining proof of postage. The customer remains responsible for the returned item until it reaches us.

Please do not return an item without contacting us first. The address shown on the original parcel may not be the correct returns address.

Where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described, MM Collectibles will provide appropriate return instructions and will cover reasonable return postage where required by law.

Refunds

Once the returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.

Approved refunds will be made to the original payment method.

For a change-of-mind cancellation, the refund will include the price paid for the returned item and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.

Additional charges paid for express, upgraded or premium delivery will not normally be refunded.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the item back or until you provide satisfactory evidence that it has been returned.

Refunds will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned item or acceptable proof that it has been sent back, where applicable.

Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the refund in your account.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Please inspect your order shortly after delivery.

Contact us promptly if the item is faulty, damaged in transit, incorrectly supplied, missing components or materially different from its description.

Please provide your order number and, where possible, clear photographs of the item, product packaging, shipping packaging and any damage.

Photographs help us investigate the issue but do not replace your statutory rights.

Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, we may offer a refund, replacement or other appropriate remedy.

Collectible packaging

We understand that packaging can form an important part of a collectible.

Any significant box damage, creasing, cracks, dents, scratches or other packaging issues known to us will be disclosed in the product description or photographs where reasonably possible.

A condition issue clearly disclosed before purchase will not be treated as a fault.

Minor factory marks, paint variations, packaging imperfections or small differences caused during mass production do not automatically mean that an item is faulty. Genuine concerns will be considered individually.

Sale and discounted items

Sale and discounted items have the same statutory cancellation and consumer rights as full-price items.

Where an item has been reduced because of a clearly disclosed defect or packaging issue, that disclosed issue will not be treated as a fault.

Exchanges

We do not currently operate an automatic exchange service.

An eligible item may be returned for a refund and a new order can then be placed, subject to stock availability.

Incorrect addresses and uncollected parcels

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

Where a parcel is returned because the address supplied was incorrect or incomplete, delivery was refused, or the parcel was not collected, we may refund the item price once it has been returned to us.

Original postage costs, carrier return fees and any new redelivery costs may be deducted or charged where legally permitted.

International returns

International customers must contact us before returning an item.

For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for return postage, customs declarations and related charges.

Where appropriate, the parcel should be marked as “returned goods”.

MM Collectibles is not responsible for customs duties, import VAT or other fees charged by the destination country. Customers may also have additional rights under the laws of their own country.

Cancelling before dispatch

Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel or amend an order.

We will try to help, but we cannot guarantee that an order can be changed once packing or dispatch has begun.

Where the parcel has already been dispatched, it may need to be returned under this policy.

Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or other applicable consumer law.

Below is a separate policy you can add to Shopify for customers outside the UK. It is deliberately clear that overseas consumer laws may give the customer additional rights, because return rules vary between countries. EU customers generally have a 14-day cooling-off right for online purchases, while other countries may have different requirements. (European Union)

MM Collectibles International Returns Policy

This policy applies to orders delivered outside the United Kingdom.

We hope you are happy with your purchase from MM Collectibles. However, should you wish to return an international order, please read the following terms carefully.

Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply in the country where you live.

Requesting a return

You must contact us within 14 days after the day your order is delivered to request a return.

You do not have to provide a reason for a change-of-mind return, although we may ask for information to help us process it correctly.

After notifying us, the item must be posted back within a further 14 days.

Please contact:

info@mmcollectibles.co.uk

Include your full name, order number, the item you wish to return and the country from which it will be sent. We will provide the correct returns address and instructions.

Do not return an item to the address shown on the original parcel unless we have confirmed that it is the correct returns address.

Return postage

For a change-of-mind return, the customer is responsible for:

  • return postage;

  • suitable protective packaging;

  • tracking or delivery confirmation;

  • customs declarations; and

  • any carrier, handling or customs charges associated with the return.

We strongly recommend using a fully tracked service and retaining proof of postage.

The customer remains responsible for the returned item until it has been delivered to MM Collectibles.

Original international delivery charges are not refundable except where required by applicable consumer law.

Where an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description, please contact us before returning it. We will provide appropriate instructions and cover reasonable return costs where legally required.

Customs declaration for returned goods

International returns should be clearly declared as:

RETURNED GOODS – NO COMMERCIAL VALUE

The customs form should also include the original order number where possible.

The value entered should accurately reflect that the parcel contains returned merchandise. Customers must not incorrectly declare the parcel as a gift.

MM Collectibles is not responsible for delays, charges or seizure caused by an inaccurate or incomplete customs declaration.

Any customs duties, import VAT, brokerage charges or handling fees charged to MM Collectibles because the return was incorrectly declared may be deducted from the refund where legally permitted.

Condition of returned items

You may inspect the item only as much as would reasonably be allowed in a physical shop.

Returned items should include all original:

  • product packaging;

  • boxes and sleeves;

  • accessories;

  • display stands;

  • cards;

  • certificates;

  • inserts; and

  • other components supplied with the order.

Items must not be used, altered, deliberately damaged or returned incomplete.

Where handling beyond what was reasonably necessary has reduced the item’s value, we may make a reasonable deduction from the refund where permitted by law.

Blind boxes and sealed collectibles

Unopened blind boxes and sealed collectibles may be returned under the terms above.

Opening a blind box reveals the enclosed design and changes it from a sealed random product into a confirmed figure. Opening outer packaging, breaking seals, opening internal bags or damaging the box may significantly reduce its resale value.

Where this happens, we may make a reasonable deduction from the refund to reflect the actual loss in value, where permitted by applicable law.

Receiving a design that the customer did not want is not, by itself, evidence that the product is faulty or incorrectly supplied.

This does not affect your rights where an item is faulty, damaged, counterfeit, incorrectly supplied or not as described.

Confirmed and open-box collectibles

Items advertised as confirmed, opened or open box may be returned under this policy.

The figure, accessories and packaging must be returned in the same condition in which they were supplied.

Any wear, marks, cracks, dents, creasing, missing packaging or other condition issues clearly disclosed in the product listing or photographs before purchase will not be treated as faults.

Refunds

Once the returned item has been received and inspected, we will notify you whether the refund has been approved and whether any deduction applies.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

We may withhold the refund until:

  • the returned item has been received; or

  • you provide satisfactory evidence that it has been posted back,

whichever is required under the applicable law.

Refunds will normally be processed within 14 days after the returned item is received or acceptable proof of return is supplied.

Your bank, card provider, PayPal or other payment provider may take additional time to display the refund.

MM Collectibles is not responsible for changes in currency exchange rates or fees charged by banks, card providers or payment services. The amount shown in your local currency may differ from the amount originally displayed due to exchange-rate movements or provider charges.

Customs duties, import VAT and carrier fees

Customers are responsible for any customs duties, import VAT, sales taxes, brokerage charges or carrier handling fees imposed by their country.

These charges are set by local authorities or delivery companies and are not controlled by MM Collectibles.

Customs duties, import taxes and handling charges paid by the customer are generally not refundable by MM Collectibles. Customers should contact their local customs authority to ask whether any tax or duty can be reclaimed after returning an item.

Refusing a parcel because customs charges are due does not automatically count as a valid cancellation or return.

Where a refused or uncollected parcel is returned to us, any original postage, return postage, customs fees, carrier charges or handling costs incurred may be deducted from the refund where legally permitted.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Please inspect your order promptly after delivery.

Contact us as soon as possible if an item is:

  • faulty;

  • damaged in transit;

  • incorrectly supplied;

  • missing components; or

  • materially different from its description.

Please include your order number and clear photographs of:

  • the item;

  • the product packaging;

  • the external shipping parcel;

  • the delivery label; and

  • any visible damage.

Please retain all packaging until the matter has been resolved, as the delivery company may require it when investigating a claim.

Do not return a damaged or incorrect item without contacting us first.

Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, we may provide a refund, replacement or another appropriate remedy.

Collectible packaging

We recognise that packaging may form an important part of a collectible.

Known significant packaging damage will be disclosed in the product description or photographs where reasonably possible.

An issue clearly disclosed before purchase will not be considered a fault.

Minor factory marks, small paint variations, packaging imperfections or normal manufacturing differences do not automatically make an item faulty. Each genuine concern will be reviewed individually.

Sale and discounted items

Sale and discounted items may be returned under the same terms as full-price items.

Where an item was reduced because of a clearly disclosed defect, box issue or other condition concern, that disclosed issue will not later be treated as a fault.

Exchanges

We do not offer automatic international exchanges.

An eligible item may be returned for a refund and a new order may then be placed, subject to availability.

New international postage charges will apply to the replacement order.

Incorrect addresses and uncollected parcels

Customers are responsible for supplying a complete and accurate delivery address.

Where an international parcel is returned because:

  • an incorrect or incomplete address was supplied;

  • delivery was refused;

  • customs fees were not paid;

  • the parcel was not collected;

  • the recipient was unavailable; or

  • local import requirements were not completed,

we may refund the product price after the parcel has been safely returned to us.

Original postage, return postage, customs charges, carrier fees and handling costs may be deducted from the refund where legally permitted.

If redelivery is requested, the customer must pay the new delivery cost and any outstanding carrier or customs charges.

Lost international returns

MM Collectibles is not responsible for a return parcel that is lost or damaged before reaching us.

The customer must make any claim directly with the postal or courier service used to return the item.

For this reason, tracked and insured postage is strongly recommended, particularly for rare or high-value collectibles.

Returns that cannot be accepted

We may refuse or reduce a refund, where legally permitted, if an item is:

  • returned without prior contact;

  • sent after the applicable return deadline;

  • used, altered or deliberately damaged;

  • incomplete;

  • returned without important accessories or packaging;

  • damaged because it was poorly packaged;

  • not the item originally supplied by MM Collectibles; or

  • affected by handling that has materially reduced its value.

This section does not apply where refusing the return would breach the customer’s mandatory legal rights.

Local consumer rights

Consumer laws vary between countries and regions.

Customers in some locations, including countries within the European Union, may have additional statutory cancellation, refund, repair or replacement rights. EU rules generally provide a 14-day withdrawal period for qualifying online purchases without the customer having to provide a reason. (European Union)

Where local mandatory consumer law gives you greater protection than this policy, the local law will apply.

Governing law

This policy and purchases from MM Collectibles are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer laws in the customer’s country provide otherwise.

Nothing in this policy removes rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
